Restor Decor | Documentary Promo

In Edwardsville, Illinois, one small nonprofit is making a big difference. Every day, community members donate furniture to Restor Décor. Volunteers bring them back to life, and the proceeds go directly toward supporting local charities and families in need.

In this short film, we follow the real-life journey of restored furniture as it finds its way into a new Habitat for Humanity home. Through generosity, craftsmanship, and compassion,

Restor Décor is turning houses into homes — and restoring more than furniture along the way.

The film was recognized with an Award of Excellence from the Broadcast Education Association (B.E.A.)

Overview

This documentary-style promotional video was created to showcase Restor Decor’s community impact, process, and attention to detail.

The goal was to move beyond a traditional advertisement and instead capture the brand through a more cinematic, story-driven approach—focusing on the work, the environment, and the people behind it.

Approach

The project was approached with a documentary-style mindset, focusing on natural moments, real workflow, and authentic environments.

My personal favorite from this project is the interview Lighting. We opened up the front garage bay door to get a lot of natural light and then used an aperture 300D to emphasize the natural light spilling in.
